Best ways to re-import a large XML file of events

Hello.
We have done an import of a new site and need to re-import a large XML of events back to the site as the import over-wrote the database. Do you have a method of doing this reimport as the WordPress install crashes on deletion of the current events. The site’s events are out of date & that is why we are wanting to re-import the events.

The simplest way to go about this would be to use something like WP all import: http://www.wpallimport.com/

I have personally used that successfully to handle large amounts of event imports using XML files.
