Hi all, I’ve spent some considerable amount of time fixing an issue with bbpress that turns out to be caused by The Events Calendar. It even presented itself when I decactivated the events calendar plugin which I thought was odd. (Yes, I also tested with the 2011 theme).

Basically it causes all the bbpress forum pages to 404 when permalinks are switched on, when I delete or upload an older version of the plugin it resolves the issue.

I have a development site that replicates the issue if someone would like access to it to have a look.

    Cheers 🙂

    Howdy epixmedia,

Thank your for notifying us of the conflict. You say you spent considerable time fixing it, does that mean you were able to get it fixed with the latest version of our plugin? Or was the fix a downgrade? If you did fix it with a code snippet or something, would you mind sharing that with the community?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry I meant I spent a lot of time looking for the problem! When I discovered it was the events calendar I downgraded it, but I’d rather not leave it that way so it would be great if you guys could try and fix it in the next release – pretty please?

I was suprised it still affected the site even when deactivated, the only thnig that fixed it was swithcing off permalinks – not sure if that gives us a clue? Is there perhaos .htaccess file in the event cal files interfering??

I follow. We don’t want you to leave it downgraded either if we can help it.

We are actually talking on bbPress right now. None of our devs recall any issue getting the two to work together. Would it be possible to get that dev server login info from you? I can not promise much since we have been unable to replicate, but I would like to take a look and see if I can spot what is up.

We use the WordPress rewrite API instead of .htaccess modifications. That should minimize any sort of conflict with other plugins that are using the WP APIs properly.

    Thanks!
