Hello,
Researching Events Ticket Plus for a solution to our ticketing needs.
As this is all database driven, is there a backup/contingency option if, for example, our website goes down? We would hate to have people coming to the gate and we can’t scan any tickets.

Event Tickets Plus is built to run entirely on your own site. All merchant processing needs would use WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads. Read more about each option’s features and payment gateways. You can review the payment needs that they offer to see if it would be a good fit.

I understand WooCommerce and the processing aspect. My question has more to do with contingencies if our site goes down. For example, do you have a backup utility that safeguards tickets offsite as well? Or any other way to access that information in such an instance? Knowing that WordPress sites do get hacked from time to time, unfortunately, this is a big concern as we are looking at doing 30 concerts a year. Let’s say the site goes down, is there any way to access a recent copy of ticket sales?

Unfortunately, we do not. At this time, all processing power for event tickets would be handled by your own server.
If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
