    What a completely stupid change

How to get back to entering event times in the old style – the new dropdown method only allows for events on the hour or the half hour, what bout events that start at 7:15 or 8:45 or even 7:10…

Such a basic and completely obvious thing.

And it’s just cost me a client – had to tell him sorry due to a software upgrade I can’t enter your event start time correctly.

    Hi @Simon,

I’m sorry for the trouble here.

There is unfortunately no way to revert to the previously-implemented time pickers or date pickers. The only thing you could do to achieve this would be to literally uninstall the current versions of The Events Calendar and its add-ons, and then replace them with older versions of the plugins that have the date-pickers you prefer.

Please note, however, that we would not be able to provide support for non-current versions of our plugins. If issues arise and you return to the forums for assistance, the first step will be to get up-to-date with the most recent versions of our plugins.

    I hope this information helps!

    Thanks,
    George

Whilst the default times offered show hour and half-hour slots I have successfully added and published an event which starts at 08:12 and finishes at 17:13 just by typing in the time.

Got that working now thanks Tony

Geoff – maybe add a note in the release description that times can be manual input.

But still feel the new format is less intuitive than the old one, requires more mouse work – and anectdotadly seems much more server cpu intensive, but that’s a topic for a different thread.

That is great feedback and I agree we could make this more clear—I will mention this to our team and see what we can implement to help make folks more aware of this.

I’ll close this thread for now, but feel free to open a new thread any time if other issues or questions arise!

    Cheers,
    George
