ParticipantI have a strong love-hate relationship with Avada. Their customization of The Events Calendar was a nice addition to their theme, but there are inherent issues when vendors do this.
In version 5.1.6, there is an issue. If you have the List Widget or Advanced List Widget on ANY page, the JSON-LD “Descriptions, Venue Descriptions and Organizer Descriptions” are being populated with the content from the page that the widget is on, and not that of the event. I have not tested on versions prior to 5.1.6, so I do not know have far back the issue goes.
The issue is reproducible and is present on Avada’s demo site where they have a working example with the widget.
If you revert to Twenty Seventeen or another theme, the issue goes away and the description are populated with that of the event. It clearly is an issue with Avada’s code and not that of The Events Calendar.
I only post this thread as a PSA to those having Google Structured Data issues and you are using Avada.
I have escalated the issue within Avada’s support system, so hopefully it will get some attention and be resolved quickly.
Hope this helps.

ParticipantUpdate.
The issue stems from a change made in version 5.1.6 of Avada in an attempt to deal with excerpts and shortcodes, essentially overriding the filters in TEC’s general.php.
While the change had the desired effect, it broke other critical areas.
I have highlighted the culprit code within their support tier and it will be addressed in a upcoming hotfix.
