We have multiple websites all using The Event Calendar. We want to be able to manage the events on only one of these sites and set up a way to schedule the additional websites to this “master” website.
Is this possible with the Event Aggregator?
What would be the best approach to doing this using your products?
Thanks for the advice.

JamesApril 4, 2017 at 6:21 am #1264013GeoffMemberHi James,
Great question! Yes, I would definitely recommend Event Aggregator for importing events from multiple sites into your “master” site.
Event Aggregator can fetch events from any site that has a valid ical feed and allows you to schedule those imports to run automatically. Here is a detailed overview of how that works:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/import-from-feed-or-url/
One other thing I should note about Event Aggregator is that it is a service and is already built into The Events Calendar. In other words, there’s no need to install anything new. Simple purchase the license, enter the license key on the Events > Settings > Licenses screen, and that will unlock the importing features under Events > Import.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!
GeoffApril 4, 2017 at 2:30 pm #1264415JamesGuestThanks Geoff,
My question was a little different to that. Instead of populating a “master” calendar from multiple sources. I need to populate a number of other Event Calendars, on different websites using the events stored in this “master” calendar.
So we manually populate the Events Calendar in website A. Then based on a schedule, our websites B, C and D ( all using Events Calendar ) can sync with Website A’s events.
We need a solution where we are not populating all our different calendars separately.
I have seen this thread, however there hasn’t been any answers: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-do-i-import-another-sites-rss-feed/
If we use something like a “master” Google Calendar as our source. Will Google Calendar be able to store the exact same information as if we where manually entering the event into EC from the WordPress admin area?
I hope that clears up the question. One master events calendar to populate a number of additional events calendars on different websites.
Thanks,
JamesApril 5, 2017 at 6:13 am #1264876GeoffMemberHi James,
Ah gotcha — thanks for clarifying and sorry I misunderstood the question.
The Events Calendar has two feeds built into it:
- An RSS feed that is located at [your-site]/events/feed
- An iCal feed that is located at [your-site]/events/ical
Both could be used to populate calendars on other sites. It’s worth noting that the feeds do not push the content to the sites, but the sites will need a method for fetching that content — whether that is automated or manual.
Hopefully this helps answer your question better than my last attempt.
Cheers!
GeoffApril 5, 2017 at 3:19 pm #1265440JamesGuestThanks for that answer.
Just to clarify. Would The Events Aggregator work as the method for pulling in the events from the “Master” calendar feed. Whether it be via:
An RSS feed that is located at [your-site]/events/feed
An iCal feed that is located at [your-site]/events/icalThanks,
JamesApril 5, 2017 at 3:52 pm #1265461GeoffMemberHi James,
Sorry for the confusion — I must be missing the heart of what you’re asking.
Event Aggregator is designed to import events into The Events Calendar. You can set it up to import events from any number of sites, feeds or sources on a scheduled basis. The following are valid sources for importing events:
- Google Calendar
- Meetup.com
- iCalendar feeds
- CSV files
- ICS files
So, for example, if you have a “master” calendar and are using Google Calendar to power it, then you can certainly import events from that calendar into The Events Calendar using Event Aggregator.
My sincere apologies if this is not directly answer your question. Hopefully it is, but please let me know if it is not and I’d be happy to either take another crack or bring in someone else who might be able to provide a better answer than I have so far.
Cheers!
GeoffApril 5, 2017 at 4:08 pm #1265470JamesGuestThanks for the continued attempts! 🙂
So basically one Events Calendar on one website can not populate Events Calendars on additional sites, using The Events Aggregator.
Forget these options – they are not suited to our needs:
Facebook
Google Calendar
Meetup.com
CSV files
ICS filesWhen you’ve referred to the following in a previous thread:
An iCal feed that is located at [your-site]/events/ical
Does this option work with the following option in The Event Aggregator:
iCalendar feeds
Basically what I want to rule out is whether we can have The Event’s Calendar as a valid source to import events into another Event’s calendar.
I hope my question isn’t confusing the issue as well.
Thanks,

I really appreciate your patience with me on this!
An iCal feed that is located at [your-site]/events/ical

Yes, you can use that URL to import events to another calendar.
Basically what I want to rule out is whether we can have The Event’s Calendar as a valid source to import events into another Event’s calendar.
Yes, you can indeed use The Events Calendar as a valid source to import events into another calendar. For example, you can use that URL above to import events into Google Calendar. You do not need Event Aggregator or any other of our paid add-ons for that capability. It is built into our free The Events Calendar plugin.
I sure hope this helps!

GeoffApril 20, 2017 at 10:09 pm #1272505JamesGuestHi Geoff,
I think we are nearly there. Perhaps I should make this question a little more clearer.
Basically what I want to rule out is whether we can have The Event’s Calendar as a valid source to import events into another Event’s calendar.
http://www.websiteA.com is using the paid “Events Calendar” plugin.
http://www.websiteB.com is using the paid “Events Calendar” plugin. If i install the “Events Aggregator” on http://www.websiteB.com. Can I set up a schedule, say once a week on http://www.websiteB.com (using The Events Aggregator) to automatically populate it’s “Event Calendar” plugin events using the iCal file generated via: http://www.websiteA.com/events/ical.
I’m only concerned with extracting events and populating events on your “Events Calendar” plugin and no other event source such as Google Calendar.
Thanks,

Thanks for following up! Hope you’ve had a great week. 🙂

Yes. If you have activated the Event Aggregator service on Website B, it can fetch events from Website A’s iCal URL and populate The Events Calendar on Website B.
Cheers!
