    Hi,

We are currently using the free version of your plugin, and would consider buying the Pro version, but I was wondering if you have the feature to auto archive events that are past? If we are running a lot of events on the site, this admin to manually archive the past events would be a nightmare.

Do you have this feature in the pro version or an add-on?

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Chantal,

Thanks for reaching and for you interest in Events Calendar PRO ๐Ÿ™‚

We don’t have a feature to auto-archive past events, but I’m not sure what you are trying to achieve with this feature. Can you describe what you are expecting of this feature?

Please let me know about it, maybe there’s another way of achieving what you need,

    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Nico

Thank you for getting back to me.

Sorry, just to clarify, what I meant was once an event listing’s date has occurred, the event gets automatically moved to a Past Events page, and isn’t listed under upcoming or current events anymore, so that we don’t need to do this manually for each and every event that passes.

I looked through all your features and couldn’t see if this happens.

    I hope this clarifies?

    Hi Chantal,

Thanks for clarifying! This indeed a feature of our free plugin: once the event has passed it will be listed under Past Event (link to past events in our demo site).

Is this not happening to your site actually?

Please let me know about it,
    Best,
    Nico

Thank you so much for your answer Nico. No this isn’t happening on our site. Please advise me how I can enable it? I am looking in the settings but I don’t see any setting for it, I have created a Past Events page, but is there a short code I must put on it?

Sorry I missed this function completely! It would be SO helpful

    Chantal,

This should be active per default, it’s how the plugin works with events that expired. Can you point me to your site?

While we cannot provide support in the pre-sales forum, I can take a look to see if I see something obvious causing this.

    Nico

Thanks so much Nico. This is our website that we are working on: http://semapp.co.za/s/

The Past events page is here: http://semapp.co.za/s/past-events/

Please note – The past “events” on that page currently are just blog posts I created to make it look like they are archived.

    Thanks so much

    You are welcome!

You can find past events here: http://semapp.co.za/s/events/list/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=past – they don’t go directly to a page (I guess this is what you are trying to achieve), but you can link past events menu item to this page or maybe create a redirect from the page url to this one.

Also, what you are seeing in this page: http://semapp.co.za/s/ is not the calendar but a carousel from the theme, so those events need to be managed manually probably. I’m not sure how this was set up, but it’s not part of our plugin.

    Nico
