ParticipantHi
Just wanted to let you know when we updated Event Tickets to version 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 it broke the code that actually saves the attendee information in the database. My tech guys confirmed this, but we did loose a lot of attendee data for our current events.
This was their email and feedback below – so thought I’d let you know, just in case you knew another way to fix it.
Regards
KellyI’ve been doing a bit of digging over the past couple of hours to see what I can come up with.
I’m using these two tickets as my examples
These are from the Horsham event on 10 May 2017. The bottom one (ID 12117) is the last order with no meta data, the top one (ID 12550) is the first one after the update that fixed it.
When I look in the database for the later one, with the metadata, I can see that the ticket has a field called _tribe_tickets_meta
This field in the database stores the extra metadata we want, for example:first-name: Patrick
last-name: Smith
email-address: [email protected]
law-firm: O’Brien LawyersAs you can see in the screenshot below, the field is there for this ticket.
When I look in the database for the earlier ticket, the _tribe_tickets_meta field doesn’t exist. As you can see here:
This earlier ticket has all of the data, except for the important bit that we need to be able to extract the ticket info. It’s literally the only field that’s missing.
This means that when the developers updated Event Tickets to version 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 they broke the code that actually saves that information in the database. They then released Event Tickets version 4.4.5 that fixed it.
So from the time of installing the first update, to the update that fixed the issue, there’s a gap of about a month that we won’t have any of this data. The metadata we need was simply not saved anywhere in the database. It doesn’t exist, so we can not recover it.

MemberHi Heather,
We did have a bug which we recently resolved in relation to collecting attendee meta data.
If you are using the very latest releases (Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus are both at version 4.4.7 at time of writing) this should no longer be a problem — but do let me know if you are still experiencing ongoing issues with those versions.
Unfortunately, attendee meta that wasn’t captured previously owing to previous bugs cannot be recovered at this point, but there shouldn’t be further issues along these lines from here on out.
Does that clarify things at all?

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
