InactiveHi, on a separate note, do you perhaps have a setup / plugin / app. / website / coding where we can use to check people in for a specific event. Either check in by name, ticket number / security number, etc. Here’s the idea that we went for on one of our events where we setup a separate / sub page, but it was only there for aesthetics and doesn’t actually check people in or check to see if the ticket number is legit or on the list…
Take a look: http://www.ticketstroom.com/confirmation
The auto and manual ticket send doesn’t work that usually sends the QR code and we don’t have any apps / scanners on hand, so we are trying something different with manual insertion onto a system / page / app, etc. as mentioned above.
Otherwise any other ideas are welcome, Many thanks

KeymasterHey Sabatha,
Thanks for reaching out! Great question, though I have to disappoint you at the moment.
The QR code that is sent out in the email works pretty seamlessly. Basically the event organizer needs to have a smartphone with any QR-code scanning app. (There are a whole bunch of them for free.) You need to log in to your site on the mobile, then just keep scanning the QRs and ppl will be logged in.
As an alternative, theoretically you could do the following:
The QR code basically redirects you to a URL, which looks like this:
http://yourdomain.com?event_qr_code=1&ticket_id=79&event_id=10
So the setup you shared could be a good start.
The way I can imagine it is:
- you enter the ticket id in the field (obviously you will need to know that / send it to the user, so he brings it along, currently not included in the email but can be done with customization)
- you have the event id in a hidden field or you have a separate filed for that, maybe dropdown with events and ids
- when you send that form, it goes to a link like above and the person is checked in (best would be ajax call with some return value (not found, checked in, already checked in))
- then you need to return to the same page
This is all theoretical, hasn’t been tested.
I know that Gravity forms is pretty flexible and you can do most anything with it. Maybe you could do it somehow with that.
Hope this helps you get your thinking started.
Cheers,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. Thanks so much!
