I imported all the starting events and people are starting to add their own. All good. But since I couldn’t assign the events to individual users when I bulk imported them, is there any way I can manually re-assign them? Right now the imported events are all under my admin user….I want to be able to change them to the actual community user they belong to so they can edit them but the only options when I view the event in the admin area are to assign it to other admins.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

This is a WordPress limitation as it will not allow you to assign an author to a post or custom post type if they cannot edit the content according to WordPress.

So usually the account has to be at least the author role.

You might be able to use a plugin such as User Role Editor and assign a user role the capability to edit events and then that might make them show in the author dropdown.

    User Role Editor

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

Excellent idea! Works like a charm. Granted, it’s a bit of a PITA but adding Editor to the user’s capabilities makes their name appear in the user dropdown. An added bonus, you can Bulk Edit Events and since User is part of bulk editing, it’s easy to change a whole batch at once. Then remove Editor from their capabilities. Not something I’d like to do for a lot of users but it worked to do it for a few larger users who have a lot of entries.

    THANKS!
