Alternative langing page for events

Hello,

I’m wondering if there is an option to have an alternative landing page for an event. The event itself would still populate in the list of events but clicking on it would result in it going to a custom URL powered by a custom field. Our company used EventEspresso in the past (liking The Events Calendar way better btw) which had this option but it’s looking like The Events Calendar doesn’t?

I need this because we recently acquired a company that is dead set on using Administrate for their classes. The short term solution is to list their classes in our instance of The Events Calendar but need them to link to an Administrate course registration page that is on our domain. Obviously I can solve this issue with redirects but was wondering if their is another solution that I’m not seeing?

Hey David and thanks for reaching out! Glad you’re loving The Events Calendar so far. 🙂

Yeah, redirects themselves based on a custom field might be possible but would take a fair amount of custom development to achieve. A couple of options to consider:

• Using the Additional Fields feature in PRO to display a link to the alternative landing page on the single event view
• Using a plugin like Redirection to manage and facilitate the redirects
