ParticipantHello,
hopefully someone can help. I’m selling tickets for kids to come and visit Santa. I need to know if the ticket is for a boy or a girl as well as the age of the child.here’s the url for the booking system: http://santasweevillage.com/tickets/
I’ve added separate tickets for boys and girls which solved one problem, but I still need to know the age of each child.
Is there a way that I can add a text box or something so that a customer can let me know the age of each child? I don’t want to add tickets for every possible combination eg:
boys 1-3
boys 4-6
boys 7-9
…and so on.Perhaps there is an obvious solution? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

MemberHi there, Michael! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂
Great question. Unfortunately, collecting additional information about attendees isn’t something that’s supported right out of the box. The options that are available to you in the WooCommerce check out settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout) are the same same options that are available for the tickets you create.
That said, collecting more information about attendees is a feature that’s been requested and that we are actively working on. I don’t have a specific timeframe to share for when it will be available, but I know that a major overhaul is slated for all of our tickets plugins in the near future.
In the meantime, WooCommerce offers their own add-ons that might offer what you’re looking for. Have you had a chance to check those out?
Sorry I don’t have a concrete solution for you, but does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks Geoff,
I’m going to try customizing the checkout fields by following a tutorial from the woocommerce documentation. Here’s hoping I don’t wreck the site, wish me luck!
Thanks,
