ParticipantHi there,
I just upgraded to your latest version, 3.5.2 of PRO (and 3.5.1 of EC). From the 3.1 versions. And now on our site, all of the recurring events…of which we have many are ALL duplicated on the calendar, listings, etc. 1) What glitch happened in the new version to cause this? 2) What’s the fix for this? Obviously it’s very confusing to our visitors with everything duplicated now.
Thanks,

ParticipantChris,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’re having trouble here, but hopefully I can help. With version 3.5, we greatly restructured how recurring events are working behind the scenes. Because of that, a few users have reported issues when upgrading directly from a much older version (like 3.1).To fix this, we recommend deleting all existing ‘Recurring Events’ and then re-creating them (which will essentially “upgrade” them to the new recurrence format). To help you easily see all of the recurring events on your site, you can set a ‘Recurring’ filter (screenshot) on the back-end and batch delete them that way. I definitely understand that this isn’t ideal, but we’ve found that this has fixed the issue for the small subset of users that were experiencing this.
Please give that a try and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks! π

ParticipantChris,
Thanks for the reply. In the future, would you mind not marking your replies as private unless you’re sharing sensitive information? That way other users who might come along after you can benefit from your troubleshooting steps. π Now, on to your questions1) Any problem with deleting the secondary listing like I did?
I don’t see any reason that would cause problems going forward, so if it seems to have fixed the issue, then go for it!
2) On the widget with the upgraded version, itβs not consistently listing events the way it did before. Check out this screenshot:
http://screencast.com/t/j2w7y9YwPfLI’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to with that screenshot, but if you have previously performed any style customizations or template overrides, then you’ll need to make sure and update those to the latest version in order to be compatible with 3.5.
Does that help to answer your questions? Just let me know if I can help further. Thanks! π

ParticipantChris,
Try adding the following CSS to your theme’s stylesheet in order to hide the recurrence information:
.tribe-mini-calendar-list-wrapper .recurringinfo {display:none !important;}
Give that a shot and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks! π

ParticipantGreat! Thanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Since it looks like you’re all set, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
By the way, if you have a minute or two, we would love it if you’d write a few words for us here: http://m.tri.be/jw
Thanks in advance. π
