I am hosting this site – https://www.theaudubobshop.com – on WP Engine. Today, they did a Launch Readiness Assessment. Their report came back with an issue having to do with The Events Calendar Pro.

    The report stated:

    Admin Ajax Abuse

Why do we check for this?
Admin-ajax.php is used frequently in many plugins and themes. We check to see how many times this script is being requested in order to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime during traffic spikes.

    Results:
We’re seeing several admin-ajax hits, which lead to slow performance: 11750 [action] => cache_meta 3888 [action] => tribe_geosearch 3528 [action] => woocommerce_get_refreshed_fragments Plugins that may be responsible for these: events-calendar-pro custom-facebook-feed-pro wp-views You may want to search for alternative plugins for the functionality, or hire a developer to take a look.

Please not in the paragraph directly above that the report says, “You may want to search for alternative plugins for the functionality, or hire a developer to take a look.” I don’t really want to find an alternative plugin. I like The Events Calendar Pro. And I don’t know a developer who can help.

Can you make suggestions about how to fix this issue?

    Thanks so much.

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues you are having. What is the ajax calls causing an issue with? Is it bringing the site down or overloading the server?

The ajax is how our plugins move between previous and next events so it is integrated to the core of everything.

However, you could add this snippet to your theme’s functions.php to disable ajax if that is what you are looking for:

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks
