We’ve already purchased a pro license, and are exploring the best way to use this tool.

We’re probably going to implement this in a multi-site environment.
The question is, can 1) each department/site have a calendar that can
be aggregated with others into a single campus-wide calendar, or
    2) can we use a single calendar from which events could be
distributed to departmental calendars (say) according to category.

Scenario 1. The History Department has an event. They add it to their
calendar, and use e.g. the lecture and public categories. The site
with the public facing campus calendar would retrieve the events in
the public category and assign the history and lecture categories to
    the event.

Scenario 2: The History Department has an event. An authorized person
from the history department would add the event to the University
Relations calendar instance, which is the aggregated, public-facing
calendar, selecting the History and lecture categories. The History
Department captures the events in the history calendar.

These are just simplified examples, but for starters, is either one of the above examples plausible?
    Thanks.

    Hi markjuwm,

While the plugins are designed to work in a multisite environment, they do not allow sharing of events across sites. Each site has its own separate calendar and there is no way to pass those events to other sites short of a manual exporting and importing. So the short answer to your question is no it’s not plausible. 🙁

However, if you’d like to add this idea to our Feature Ideas page (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas) that would help us in prioritizing it.

Sorry we don’t have a solution for you at the present time.
