ParticipantBefore the update, past events did not show that tickets were available. Now they do. Event Tickets Plus plug-in version 4.7.2.
Sample event: https://thesinglegourmet.net/event/villa-berulia-2017/
From there, you can go to previous events and see the same.

KeymasterHi John,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Can you take a look at one of those events on the backend, and see if there is an Sale End Date there? If there is not one, that may be why you are seeing tickets to past events appear.
Let me know what you find!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantNo, there is not a sale end date. But in the past, when I put no sale end date, tickets would no longer be for sale once the event was over — is logical.
Do I now have to go back to every event and set an end date for every ticket? That would be incredibly time-consuming.
And also set an end date every time I create a ticket? This makes no sense.

KeymasterHi John,
Unfortunately, I could reproduce the same issue on my end. I have logged a bug report for this so it can be addressed in one of our next maintenance releases of our plugins.
I will set this thread’s status as “Pending fix” and link it to the report. This way, we will notify you once a fix is released.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience while we work on this.
Please let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantI appreciate that you were able to replicate the problem — but this is something that should be considered a serious bug that needs an immediate fix, and not a minor bug to be fixed in the next maintenance release.
I have literally HUNDREDS of events that now have tickets available, and I don’t have time to go back to all the events and put end dates on all the tickets, and I don’t want to have to deal with purchases to events that are in the past. It has already happened once. Who knows why someone purchased a ticket to an event that already passed, but they DID. Please tell me this will be fixed ASAP.

KeymasterHi John,
I apologize for the inconvenience that this issue has caused you and your business. For now, you can bulk change the status of your past events to Private, so that they do not appear on the front end. This way, users cannot purchase tickets to your past events.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantThat is a terrible solution. Then it would look as if I have had no events for the past couple of years.

KeymasterHi John,
I’m sorry that solution does not work for you. You can keep the past events and remove all of the tickets, or edit the End Sale Date and time for now.
I know this is not ideal, and we appreciate your understanding throughout this process.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

MemberHi Juan!
Just wanted to share with you that a new release of out plugins is out, including a fix for this issue.
Find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-for-the-week-29-july-2018/
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we worked on this.
As always, we suggest to setup a dev/staging site so you can make all plugin updates without disrupting the live site. Please update the plugins and let us know if the fix works for your site.
Best,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
