ParticipantHI Support
I’ve added the Community Event add-on to the The Event Calendar within the Raindance WordPress website.
If I’m logged in as WordPress admin and publish an event, then log out and then log back in as a S2Member forum contributor role then I can’t see the event in the Event list page I created.
The same problem happens when I create a community event via a contributor which is then invisible to admin. It seems that each user role can only see their own events. I would like admin to see all the community events from all roles.
Do you know what the problem can be as I’ve not blocked any roles in Event settings? We do have the S2Member Pro plug-in which could be conflicting but the security is only set on pages and everything else such as posts are security free. Plus, this would not explain why admin (which has full privileges) can’t see an event created by a level 1 contributor..

MemberHi Tom,
Thanks for getting in touch, I’ll help you here…
First of all let’s jump to the obvious things which you might have checked, but it’s always good to re-check. Can you make sure that events are actually being published? Per default the status is Pending Review (https://cloudup.com/ciaujaCLOzR), you can change that in WP-Admin > Event > Settings > Community.
If events are being published, then you’ll need to follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins – specially the members plugin you mentioned.
Please let me know about it,
Best,

ParticipantHi Nico
The default is set to ‘published’ so I know thats ok. It’s strange because when I’m logged in as admin I can see the community event in the dashboard. It’s only when I look for the community event in the Event List created by a contributor then I can’t see it.
S2Member could very well be the problem… Especially if no one else has encountered this problem themselves! The problem I have is that I’m not authorised to turn off the plug-ins especially as there’s so much traffic going through the site.
Okay well if this is not a common ‘bug’ or an obvious mistake I’ve made then I’ll have to ask the S2member forum. Thank you Nico. (However please do reply if there is anything I can do without turning off plug-ins!)
Thank you for your help
Tom

MemberHey Tom,
Thanks for the heads up! Indeed this is not a known issue, at least it isn’t logged as a bug in our backlog. I know testing for conflicts is not the best for live sites, we usually recommend to do this tests in a staging, dev or local server. There are various plugins that let you duplicate/migrate an entire site from one environment to the other, you might find this useful if you plan to set a test site.
Hope you have better luck on the S2member forum! Do you want me to keep the thread active in case there’s a reply from the S2member team?
