GuestHey there,
thinking about going Pro with this plugin. However, I do have a couple of questions:
1. I’m creating a site, that is completely centered around a huge event calendar. Is it possible to just declare the calendar the main page of my website, for example by using a shortcode?
2. Is it possible to add an additional field for HTML-embeds? I want to embed video players for all events. If I use the embed code of i.e. YouTube, Twitch etc. will it be displayed correctly beneath the event post?
3. Also thinking about purchasing your Filter product as well. Is there some sort of discount if I buy more than one item at once? Some sort of bundle price maybe?
Thank you very much!

MemberGood evening Dorian and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.1. I’m creating a site, that is completely centered around a huge event calendar. Is it possible to just declare the calendar the main page of my website, for example by using a shortcode?
Absolutely. To do that you will indeed need to grab a copy of the Events Calendar Pro: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
You will actually be able to set that option straight from Settings > Reading in your wp-admin dashboard.
But, you will also be able to use shortcodes if you prefer: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/
2. Is it possible to add an additional field for HTML-embeds? I want to embed video players for all events. If I use the embed code of i.e. YouTube, Twitch etc. will it be displayed correctly beneath the event post?
Yes they will. Our events work like normal posts in that respect and fully support embedding codes and even oEmbed (just pasting the YouTube link for example will render the player).
As such, you probably will not need an additional field. But, a lot of our users have successfully integrated our plugins with plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields.
3. Also thinking about purchasing your Filter product as well. Is there some sort of discount if I buy more than one item at once? Some sort of bundle price maybe?
Indeed there is! Take a look at our bundles right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/bundles/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestThank you, Geoff.
Actually thinking about purchasing your product. But I do have some follow-up questions:
1) Is it possible to display not only the excerpt, but the full post on the daily calendar overview site, maybe via Short Code?
2) Is it possible that the Featured Event is displayed sticky on top of the daily view of the calendar? With the free version the featured event is just highlighted, but still remains in between all other events.
3) Regarding your Community Events plugin: Is it possible to exclude certain fields from being shown to someone who distributes an event, i.e.: Location details etc.?
Thanks in advance!

MemberGood afternoon Dorian,
I will gladly answer your follow-up questions:
1) Is it possible to display not only the excerpt, but the full post on the daily calendar overview site, maybe via Short Code?
The short answer is yes.
You can pretty much customize the appearance of any view to your liking, including using the full post instead of an excerpt.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
2) Is it possible that the Featured Event is displayed sticky on top of the daily view of the calendar? With the free version the featured event is just highlighted, but still remains in between all other events.
We do have a built-in Sticky feature in the Pro version.
It is typically meant for the Monthly view. But, you could literally still the code from that view to implement in the daily view (as per our themer’s guide).
3) Regarding your Community Events plugin: Is it possible to exclude certain fields from being shown to someone who distributes an event, i.e.: Location details etc.?
Yes, you can completely customize the Community Submission form, including removing/hiding unwanted fields.
Additionally, Pro will let you set default values for these fields (wether they are visible or not).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
