Additional Fields and tags

1. additional fields
added an additional field with dropdown menu, ‘Type’ – “Event, Speaker, Music…” I want to add this field to the filter so folks can choose the type of event. In the admin I see that I can check this new field to be included in the filter, and I do check it. It is added to the other default fields but does not appear on the front end of the site. Why not?

2. tags
my tags seem to be all the tags ever created by others. 90% are not relevant to post but are not for the events. Can i delete the tags for the events on filter without deleting them for posts.

Regarding https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-filter-bar/#additional-fields

Your Additional Field will not appear in Filter Bar unless at least one event (past or present) has a value for it.

2)

Event Categories is a custom taxonomy (and therefore we provide a view for it), but the Tags you can assign to Events are shared across both Posts (regular blog posts) and Events (the tribe_events custom post type).

Therefore, if you delete a Tag, it will be gone and no longer available to Events or Posts.
