ParticipantI’ve created an additional field – a URL type called Registration – it appears under/after heading “Other”. It’s appears fine on the page (mobile and desktop) for about one day and then just disappears. This has been happening for about 2 weeks. Any suggestions on fixing or another way to be able to add a custom URL to the details of an event (default “Website” doesnt work for all my events)?

MemberHey @rayasunn,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m very sorry about this issue you are experiencing, let me help you with that!
I’ve ran some tests and couldn’t replicate the issue from here: this is a very odd behavior indeed!
Can you please make sure that all of your plugins are up to date? Also, can you please let me know if you are running daily scheduled imports? I just want to make sure that your events aren’t being somehow replaced/updated daily. Are you having this problem with all of your events using this field?
Thanks!
Patricia

ParticipantHi, thanks for your help and yes all my plugins and WP files are up to date. Well, it’s happened again..if you look at this page:

The “website” URL is totally gone. This time, I did NOT use a custom / additional field. I simply used the “Event Website” field in the Event details page.August 9, 2017 at 10:39 am #1332978Adri Lina
ParticipantOh oh! I think they WERE being overwritten by an import from Google Calendar. I just saw this setting and had the first option selected:
Event Update Authority
Overwrite my event with any changes from the original source.
Do not re-import events. Changes made locally will be preserved.
Import events but preserve local changes to event fields.I’ll try the other two and see how that goes and which I prefer. Thank you for now. I’ll close the ticket if I get it figured out.

MemberHi @rayasunn,
Good to know I was able to help! Regarding the Event Update Authority option, I would suggest you to go with option #3: Import events but preserve local changes to event fields.
We have an article about EA import settings: it is a little bit outdated but might be helpful to better understand some of the available options:
I hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else and have a great day 🙂
Regards,
Patricia
