Adding topic-specific Community Calendar separate from main Events Calendar

Hi there, the website I manage has the basic version of the Events Calendar installed, which has worked well as the general calendar for my organization’s website. However, we are wanting to add a separate calendar related to a specific category of events, and have it set up so visitors to the site can add events to that calendar which will have a more narrow focus. The Community Events calendar looks like it would be a good solution, and we are thinking about using it for our site. What I am wondering is can we have two separate Events Calendars installed on the site — the basic version for the general calendar, and the Community Events for the user-submitted specific subject area. Is this possible/can this work? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in our plugins!

Unfortunately, having separate calendars in the way you describe is not possible at this time 🙁

The closes way to approximate this behavior would be to have an “Event Category” that you/other site admins manually add to events submitted from the community—then, at least, the main calendar could be filtered to only show events in this category or to show all events….
