    Hi there,

maybe this seems like a less important question and it probably is. Nevertheless one can always ask 😉

German is an awkward language, sometimes relatively long words like: “Veranstaltungsort” which is probably translated “venue”.
Now the challenge with this is, that there is a language file for German that comes with tribe events. These words are in there and using a mobile browser it does not necessarily look very nice. Is there a way to ad soft hyphens to a word like that ()? I tried to ad them in the language file, but that doesn’t work.

Well, thank you just for looking into this, like I said: one can always ask …

    Best regards

    Martin

Hi Martin. Thanks for your detailed question.

I believe you should look into using a CSS solution. One of these might be helpful:

You can add custom CSS code via your child theme’s style.css file or via a plugin like Simple Custom CSS or, my favorite, Jetpack. Jetpack supports regular CSS and the LESS and Sass pre-processors.

If you’re not a CSS expert, Jetpack’s Custom Design reference may prove helpful.

Please let me know how it goes for you.

    Thank you Cliff,

although it is a bit of a tragedy not to be able to use soft hyphens due to the limitations mentioned in the first article I guess I am going to try it with the css method anyway. I am not an expert but this doesn’t seem to difficult to ad.

    Thank you again,

    Best regards!
