Adding PHP code to defaults events template and removing ICal function

I am using the default events template and would like to add a php code to the template so that some share buttons will be visible on the actual events page. What file do I need to edit to be able to add such code?

I would also like to remove the +Google Calendar and +ICal from all over the site. How can that be done?

minus the <?php into your theme's functions.php file.

For custom PHP code, you'll need to use custom templating.

There you can see an example, and the +Google Calendar +iCal Import is still there… Any further advice?
