ParticipantHello, I have a lot of tickets with long descriptions, and I want to link to another page in each description. When I add the tag in the description and save it that code just dissapears! Same thing for
, <br>, etc. So my descriptions just look like walls of text instead of being readable and user friendly.

KeymasterHi Jami,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the ticket descriptions. I will try to help you get this sorted.
It seems that all html markup is being filtered out of that field. There’s really not a straight-forward way to change this behavior. However, I can think of two potential solutions.
You could add the links to the event page content somewhere.
You could also edit the ticket emails that people receive to include the links, though this will require some customization. If you want to pursue this, let me know and I’ll provide some resources and examples to get you going in the right direction.
Let me know if that helps, or if you have more questions.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Sky,
As you can see in this URL (https://jamijade.com/reserver/), there are about 40 ticket types, and most of them reference information that is found on another website (in this case different types of accommodation). Putting the links on the event page wouldn’t work as I want the information to be per ticket type. Also, this is information that is needed before people buy the ticket so they can make a better decision.
Is there a reason why the html formatting is stripped? Why not use the fields in the woocommerce product that have rich text editors?
I think this limits the display options for some use cases for the plugin. Is there a feature suggestion page where I can submit this?

KeymasterJami,
Generally, text fields have html stripped out during sanitization for security reasons.
Since you are using WooCommerce to sell tickets, the ticket description will default to be the same as the product short description in the Woocommerce product page, which will accept HTML. Is it possible to edit the ticket descriptions there?
Let me know if that works for you!
Thanks,

ParticipantThis is a major issue for us as well. In previous versions of your software, we were able to keep the HTML formatting in the ticket descriptions. Our ticket descriptions contain tables of features, and it’s important for this info to be with the ticket at the point of purchase so our customers don’t get confused and purchase the wrong tickets. I am a programmer and I understand the security concerns, but there are ways to mitigate the security risks without stripping the HTML formatting, and I strongly encourage you to do so as this really cripples your software to the point where it is almost unusable for us.

KeymasterElizabeth,
Thanks for chiming in! Have you tried the suggestion I made to Jami about the WooCommerce short description? Does this work for your case?
Feel free to visit our User Voice forum and suggest this as a feature.
Thanks,
