ParticipantHey Ran,
If Gold and Platinum users are users at different WP User Role levels, than yes, within your admin you can limit access to event creation and such.
However, this is a general WordPress question, not something related to The Events Calendar specifically, so there isn’t much that we can help with specifically here. Basically, if your “Gold” and “Platinum” users are at the “Editor” user role on your site, they could edit events, but if they’re, say, at the “Silver” level and you make them “Subscriber” instead of “Editors” on your site, then they won’t be able to.
There are many variations and possible configurations here, so definitely read up about WordPress User Roles and capabilities to learn how to best configure your site.
Cheers!

ParticipantWP Users are not automatically added as Modern Tribe Event Calendar event organizers.
For example: If I add a WP User with the role of Author (somebody who can publish and manage their own posts.), they are not automatically added as an event organizer.
1. If I create an event, and add the user name of the WP User who is an Author as the “Organizer” for that event, they are added to the organizer list. But, what if they put in a diff. name?
Is there a way to automatically add WP users who have the Author role to the event organizer list?If not, can you point me to an example of customization?
i.e. If User is Author, make that user an Event Organizer.June 14, 2015 at 11:15 am #969300George
ParticipantHey Eve,
Unfortunately, “Organizers” exist as a custom taxonomy within WordPress, not a type of actual WP_User with a profile and user capabilities and everything. They’re different things entirely, you can think of “Organizers” and “Venues” on Events as customized versions of “Categories” on Posts. Whereas “Users” within WordPress are entirely separate from both things.
It is technically possible to rework the entire “Organizer” system to use actual WP Users, though it is a very extensive customization far beyond the scope of support here and not something we could provide examples of.
Sorry to disappoint on those fronts – if you have further issues or concerns, I’d recommend opening a new thread on the forums (if you need to refer to this thread here, just link back to it in your new thread).
Since Ran’s question is a general WordPress question and such, I’ll close up this thread for now.
Thank you!
