ParticipantCurrently I’m working wth the event calendar (EC) on my website and I’m curious about the possibility to add the EC organizer info – which is a kind of blogpost – to a DIVI-slider.
In order to do that, the DIVI-slider selects blogpost by ‘category’, but regrettably I can’t add a category label to the EC organizer post.Of course I would like to know if there is a possibility to add a category label to these organizer posts, making it possible to add those organizer posts to the regular DIVI-slider.
I’m also using Featured Slider by Slider Villa and I have seen there would be possibility to add the ‘organizer posts’ to a Featured Slider slider, but since I’m using another design with the regular DIVI slider on other pages, this would not be a solution for me.
Since Im not a programmer or developer, a more simple solution would be welcome.
If there already is information available on this topic, please let me know where to find it, if not, I hope you can help me out.
It does’ t seem to a huge problem, it’s almost like building a bridge or a tunnel from both sides, but missing in the middle where the two sides should be connected.Hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards,

MemberHi @Cees,
Great question! It would certainly take some development to create a custom taxonomy and then to make that taxonomy available for Organizers. However, there is a pretty handy plugin that can make this a lot easier and I’d recommend giving it a try:
I just tested that out and it allowed me to create a new custom taxonomy and then apply to specifically to Organizers.
Will that work for you as well? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks Geoff, I will have a look at it and try it out.
Another challenging next step, but nice to hear from you which way to go.Right now I have been able to add a category to the events calendar organizer ‘post’, but haven’t been able yet to show it in a slider or blog.
I guess somewhere there has to bearded a definition that also ‘reads’ the ‘hidden’ posts form the Event Calendar.
Any suggestion how to is welcome.January 17, 2017 at 8:54 am #1219666Geoff
MemberHey Cees,
So glad to hear that the plugin allowed you to assign a category to organizers — that’s awesome!
I’m unfortunately not as familiar with the slider plugin you are using than I am our own plugins. I would suggest reaching out to the plugin author to see if they have any tips for displaying posts now that you’ve been able to implement categories.
Thanks!
