On http://www.kidtivity.com I would like to add a call to action under the list events on the home page. I have created a test page http://www.kidtivity.com/home/ where you can see the button to view all events. The events list is added in a content block which allows an option for a call to action. I can add all types of content, and media and the button will work right (link to the page I select) but when I add the list of events the button always links to one of the events, not the page I select in the call to action selection field.

When I revert to twenty fourteen the events are no longer shown? Any ideas?

    Hi there Joanne,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to hear about this glitch!

The problem seems to be with the ‘page builder’ you are using, so not sure I can be of much help unfortunately. I’d recommend reaching out to the ‘page builder’ devs and report this issue. The only workaround I can help you with is a JS snippet to change the button URL after the page loads, although it’s a pretty hacky solution I guess it will work for now.

Please let me know about this,
    Best,
    Nico

    Thank You!

My site was built by a company that I had to let go they were so bad. I tracked down the plugin owner, but it looks like open source and I don’t understand any of it.

    https://github.com/MWDelaney/acf-flexible-content-blocks

I’m going to try adding a different flexible content plugin for this row and see if that works. Please don’t close this discussion yet. I may need the hack.

    Hi Nico,

    Thanks for following up!
This week we noticed that the button isn’t working again?!

We haven’t been able to troubleshoot it – would it be related to The Events
Calendar or the theme? The second button on the home page works yet it
points to our blog not your calendar which is why we contacted Modern Tribe.

    Please advise.

    Hello Joanne!

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Nico asked me if I could help you with this issue. So let me try to do just that.

Having a closer inspection in this page > http://www.kidtivity.com/home/ I found that this might be a theme conflict.

You can see from this screenshot > https://cloudup.com/c9WmIsRIGZ7 that there is an article element with the class ‘card-content’ where its clickable area overlaps that of the View All Kids Activities button. On the other hand, the View All Kids Activities button links to this url > http://www.kidtivity.com/family-events-in-ct/ which shows the upcoming events.

You could try adding the following css snippet to your theme’s styles and see if it helps:

    .card-inner { overflow: hidden; }

    I hope that helps!

    Best,
    Victor

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
