ParticipantUsed the default https://www.prophotoca.com/calendar/community/add to allow users to create events.
Created a custom link on the menu to the above location
When the menu link is clicked it opens a log in screen even though the user is already logged in.
When the user logs in or refreshes the page, it returns a page isn’t working HTTP ERROR 500

ParticipantHey Steven,
Thanks for using The Events Calendar!
This sounds like an issue with the permalinks possibly. I think you’ll find the information you need about how to set up your community event submissions, and reset permalink structureΒ here. If you can confirm that you’ve referenced this documentation and you’re still having trouble getting things to work as expected, please let me know and we can keep working on resolving this together. π
Let us know if you have any other questions or issues!
Best,
Shelby π

ParticipantYes, I viewed the document.
Attached is a copy of the Events -> Settings -> Community Tag showing https://www.prophotoca.com/calendar/community/add as the link to call the add to calendar function.
Attached is a screen print of the page with that same address in the URL field with the HTTP 500 Error.

ParticipantHey Steven,
Since you’ve confirmed that it’s not a conflict, and I’m not able to replicate this issue on my end, I’m inclined to think that it may be related to the “Must Use” caching plugin, that I’m assuming is dictated by your host. Would you mind telling me who you’re hosting with? It would be worth it to reach out to them about clearing that cache, especially since the error you’re pulling is a 500 (server-related) error.
Let me know if you need any clarification on this.
Best,
Shelby π

ParticipantI’m hosting the site at Bluehost. I noticed what I think is another user with the same problem a couple of days later.

ParticipantHi Steven,
Could you possibly send me a link to that thread you’re referencing?
Thanks!

ParticipantI cleared the cache. Deactivated the “must-use” caching plugins.
http://www.prophotoca.com/calendar/community/add/ Still returns a 500 error.
I’d be happy to give you credentials to have a peek behind the curtain.

ParticipantHi Steven,
My most sincere apologies on the delay here, I was out last week with a family emergency. I’m going to do some more testing on this one and check with my team to see if anyone is able to replicate this issue. I super appreciate your patience here!
Thanks,
Shelby π

ParticipantAny luck? My software support is up for renewal and I don’t want to renew support for a product that’s buggy.

ParticipantNeither of these URL’s work.
https://www.prophotoca.com/calendar/community/add
https://www.prophotoca.com/calendar/community/listThey both return an HTTP 500 error.

ParticipantHi Steven,
Apologies for the delay here. I’m still not able to replicate this issue, but I think it may possibly be a permalinks issue. Could you possibly reset your permalinks and let me know how that goes? (There’s a good guide for doing that here.)
Cheers,
Shelby π

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
