Add custom taxonomy (custom tags) to my events

Hi Again! I´m a designer… so I don´t know much about programming, php, css… just a little (liiiittle) bit.

I need to create a custom tag (custom taxonomy) for my events. Looking in the search option I have seen results to add the tags in the event backend dialog box, but I need to know how to create an independent tag or taxonomy to see in the Events dialog box.

I need it ’cause…
With the Event calendar I suppose that the plugin has created a new content type called “Events”. I want to include an “EVENT” category to a menu bar so I have to create an event category called EVENT (to display in my menu bar) and create in it the new subcategories, such as: “music”, “theater”… I need the custom tags to avoid creating a new level (third level) of sub-subcategories called “rock”, “pop”, “comedy”, etc… How can I do this?

I Would be very pleased if I received replies in Spanish! 😉

Hi Javier,

I don’t really understand what you are asking and sorry I can’t reply in Spanish 🙂 Are you asking for the ability to add tagging to events but only display one tag?

Hi Jonah!

No, I need a new taxonomy of tags for my custom post type created through the Event calendar pro plugin. Such as the tags of the normal post wordpress (that includes tags). I need it for add to the navigation menu… add “event category of event calendar pro” and add “tag of event calendar pro”…
