Add Custom Event Options

    I would like to add some options to the “Event Options” on the right hand side that users can select when creating a new event. Currently there is “Hide From Upcoming Events List”. Could I add a few others options there? The two I need are:

    “Ongoing Event” for events that go on for a year or so. I will use this in queries to build out widgets with just those items, and use it to exclude items from calendar, and listing views.

    “Featured Item” for events that should be featured on the homepage. Again, I will use this in a query (probably add in some workflow stuff too to have it approved by an admin before publishing).

    Great question; right now I don’t think there are any hooks that would facilitate adding items to that particular meta box – so in this case it might be easier to register a new meta box and put the new fields in there.

    I’m afraid it’s a little beyond the scope of support here to work through that with you, but there are fairly decent docs over on the WordPress codex (about meta box registration etc).

    Thanks Barry. I could do this, but I’m wondering if I could just use the custom fields feature in the events calendar pro already… I’ll look into both. Thanks.

    Sure, yep that definitely sounds like it would be faster and easier to implement.
