ParticipantHi there,
I have set my Events Tickets Pro to use WooCommerce for selling my tickets. Everything works awesome aside from following.
Example.
Event starts at 22:30 at June 15th. Event tickets End Sale is June 15th @ 17:00.
Next events starts at 22:30 the next day.We use your widget which says “Book the next date”. The issue is that between 17:00 and 22:30 – the button leads – to 15th. Not 16th. Which – is from my point of view – a bug.
BUT. I would like to do a workaround. We HAVE “Book now” buttons all over the place. I have a link to Calendar so we are good. But can you tell me how to add a message on the event details page which has following:
“The sales for this day have ended”
Because it is really weird that after sales end widget does not go to another event. And I know that add to cart and input field dissapear properly.
Can you help me please ๐

ParticipantHey Luka,
Thanks for posting, & Iโm happy to help.:)
Unfortunately, this kind of request would require some customization that we can’t provide on these forums. However, we do have some resources for guidance doing that here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here.
In this case, I do think you might find this documentation here helpful for finding a solution.
Hope this helps, and thanks for understanding!
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantSo,
you are telling me this.
If I have “Book next event NOW” widget that you are providing with your plugins and it is not working properly – you will not help with possible fix? Even to the paying customer? Nice.
Then I would like you to give me a link where to report a BUG of your plugins widget. Since there IS a bug.
Why do I consider this a bug. “Book next event” means Book NEXT event. If you are unable to book since there is a option when to stop selling – it should take you properly to the next event, even if is more than 24hrs before the same.
So, yes, I would require a fix for this widget since it is not working properly. Also. I would require for you to tell me WHEN will this be fixed, a timeplan or something since this widget is working with both your PRO versions of plugins on a LIVE website and causing problems.
I must say that I am now completely dissapointed that for 159$ of extended support (plus first year of 178$) that you would not even try to help me with this two liner (for people familiar with the plugin).
So basically, aside from paying money to get some updates (mostly for your own bugs on the plugin), I will have support telling me off or sending me to dig trough the templates.
I will also notice that now that I have consistently searched trough the forum, found similar cases, just left out for a bot to close with no concrete answers (and I have seen similar questions). And I do see that you do not work to help out users or create snippets from frequently asked questions.
I guess it is up to me to run trough the plugin code and documentation to become completely familiar to make a fix for an issue that your QA team has not checked or had a solution for it.
Will be more careful next time when I get a “extend your license” email.

ParticipantHi Luka,
I’m so sorry, I think there’s been a bit of a misunderstanding here, and I’d really like to clear it up if I can:
My response was intended to address the “work around” that you requested and put in the title of this thread. What you were asking for there is a customization and we don’t provide custom code on our forums when the queue volumes are high.
I did, however, get so focused on the specific work around you were asking for, that I forgot to address the bug aspect of this situation, and for that I apologize. So, to back track, let’s address that bit:
- Can you send me a link so I can see this firsthand?
- Please send me the steps exactly to set up this widget as you did so I can attempt to replicate this in my testing environment.
Please let me know about these things, and I will be more than happy to help you out here. Again, apologies for the mistake, we certainly all make them from time to time, and though this shouldn’t reflect on your opinion of MT as a whole, we certainly aren’t infallible.
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantSteps to reproduce:
1. Add event (e.g. June 18th)
2. Set Time & Date of the event for 10:30PM (June 18th) up to 5:00AM (June 19th)
3. Add a new ticket
4. Sell the ticket using WooCommerce
5. Set the End Sale date for 5:00PM (June 18th)This leaves us with an event that starts @10:30PM yet we have stopped selling tickets for the event @5:00PM.
What happends on June 18th @5:00PM. Button sends us to the event that starts @10:30PM regardless of the fact that you are unable to book it.
And since you are not providing ANY text option that would inform users about WHAT is happening between 5:00PM and 10:30PM – we have a widget sending users to event without option to Book, and no proper information about “The Next Event”.
I would say that either we should display button for the Events Countdown to have an option if tickets are not selling to forward to next event, or we need a message to say “tickets stopped selling @XX time of hour”. Both of which – I do not have.
And yet, no matter what you try to diplomatically solve by rephrasing what I wanted with the workaround:
“What you were asking for there is a customization and we donโt provide custom code on our forums when the queue volumes are high.”
I do not know what Volumes are high mean. I mean that you have a “ticket selling extension” for “calendar” which is using “commerce extension” to sell them. I have options on all sides where I define:
– When event starts
– When event ends
– When tickets start to sell
– When tickets end with sale
– Event countdown pluginEvent countdown leads @5:00PM to the Event which has no tickets to sell and no information about why it does not have any tickets to sell or an option within the plugin where I could add or change the reasons for that.
In my case, I asked for exactly that.
I do not consider that a “custom modification”, I did not ask for Payment Gateway integration. I asked from PLUGIN DEVELOPERS on their PLUGIN SUPPORT FORUM for which I actually PAID to give me proper form of
<?php if ( tribe_events_has_ended_with_friggin_sale_and_you_cannot_buy_it_anymore_for_reasons() ): ?> <span class="ticket-sale-has-ended"> All I needed was to get this if with an option to write a reason. </span> <?php endif ?>And as I said, I needed that as a simple solution. I am dissapointed, and since I have once a year or once every two years to ask for ANY of paid plugins developers an assistance – I personally expect to get an answer. It does not have to be fast, public or whatsoever, but I expect help from plugin authors.
This ain’t help.
So forgive me if I am agitated or blunt with my answer, but that is how it is.
Oneliner. Twoliners if you have the code right. And problem solved. If it is more than that – then perhaps an explanation. But since I have investigated, I found several more such problems solved by your closing bot. So, no, your answer did not make me feel worried about the fact that I paid for license to get support, but the whole setup of forums and how the things work ๐ But we all learn from our mistakes.
Cheers!

MemberHi Luka,
I’m sorry for the delayed response. Shelby’s out this week so I wanted to stop by and see if I could keep this moving. However, I seem to be missing a step in my efforts to reproduce:
We use your widget which says โBook the next dateโ
Which widget is this exactly? Did you download a plugin from our extension library – which one if so?
Apologies for the further delay, but if we can clarify this detail we can hopefully get things back on track here.
Thanks!

ParticipantI have lost more time writing stuff here, than you guys invested in going to my profile and eventually checkin the only page I have there before writing yet another comment which asks about the text for the widget in question.
The text is changed via CSS content: “” from event title to serve as a button.
Now that I have that in mind, this whole thing makes no sense anyway since I am obviously using the widget in wrong way.
Event widget shows next event, although that selling tickets has ended. But it still is “the next event”.
It does not solve my issue of now knowing about @what time the tickets sales ended, and “next event” is not bookeable. But since we already concluded that you will not help with that code, and that I was looking at a widget which has its propery changed via CSS – and logically it works properly – I remain in this conversation an idiot for questioning validity of widget.
Although logic behind my motiv – if “The next event” widget countdowns to a event for which you cannot buy any tickets because the time for selling tickets has passed after (eg. 17:00h) and you land on a page where – you dont see that you are past 17h – that is a bug. But as we solved it above – it is not a feature of the plugins.
Thanks.
Will make sure to not bug you again.

MemberWill make sure to not bug you again.
Luka, we’re happy to help if we can (even if we can’t get into the nuts and bolts of a custom development question, we’ll always aim to point you in the right direction where possible) but to be able to do that we need to gather enough information to understand the problem and build up a picture of what you’re doing.
Please don’t feel like you’re “bugging us”, though – all we’re trying to do is help. That said, it seems like you’ve decided to change direction so we can go ahead and close this topic.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
