I would like a particular user to be the calendar manager – and have assigned her the EDITOR role in WordPress. But she’s not seeing any of the EVENTS in the EVENTS manager.
Is there a way to give her access to edit the events without making her an admin?

I would love to help you with this topic.The short answer is yes, you can simply tweak her role to add access to manage the calendar.

Thank you for writing back.
There are 2 things I would recommend to get things working for your users:
- Do a string search with “event” while being in the Custom capabilities tab of the editor role. As you will notice, not all options are stored under the Events tab.
- If that does not role, try restricting the role of the editor to only one (editor). In the example you provided, you can see that the user is both a Subscriber AND an Editor. This dual role can cause issues.

Geoff B.1. I went to CUSTOM tab and there was nothing with ‘event’ in there. I went to ALL and they were all checked.
2. I gave her JUST editor capabilities and she still saw no events.>> You need to give the “Manage options” permission to the editor role for the events to appear.
