Access to 'My events' area

Hi,

I’ve noticed a link to ‘My Events’ on the add event page. How do logged in users navigate to it to see their events to edit them etc.?

Hi Brent,

That’s a great question. Because every theme is different, you’ll want to place your community events in the menu your theme has provided so that your users have access to them.

If you navigate to Events > Settings > Community, you’ll see two links under the “Community rewrite slug” section.

Copy those links and create a menu link for each of them in your menu system:

Appearance > Menus > Custom Links

Thanks for your response.

I presume I could also link to the page using a button or link on the page?

However, I would only want this choice available to users who are logged in and/or have already posted an event. Is that the case?

Absolutely! A button linking to those pages is certainly possible. If you’re applying that login/access button to a content page or post, the easiest way to limit access is to use a plugin like Eyes Only: User Access Shortcode.

The role for users that can submit events is “editor” so after activating that plugin you’ll just want to wrap your button or link with their shortcode like this:


[eyesonly level="administrator, editor"]
