Able to view and select other organisers

Hi,

Quick question, as an event organiser when creating an event I can see other organisers in the dropdown. How can I restrict to view and select only the organisers that I create.

Howdy Tac,

That is not yet possible with our plugin. We do have a feature request for this though. I would definitely vote on that if I were you.

It might actually be possible to write a snippet that does this with our current API. However, we just launched a new version of our plugin so we are getting a lot more support topics today than normal, people always think to reach out to us more often on these days even if there are no new bugs in the latest version. The skinny is we are too swamped right now to take an hour and investigate this further. Would you mind if I get back to you tomorrow or Monday to see if there is anything more that can be down now, than just waiting for the feature to be implemented?

Howdy Tac,

After some investigation I have pinned this down. There is actually an apparent bug in our plugin making this more difficult than it should be, one we are looking into further to see if it needs a fix. It’s complicated by the fact that our next release will dramatically change how this works.

Until then though if you are the adventerous sort a small modification to one of our files will make this doable. Open this file: /the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Main.php and scroll down to line 1915. You will see:

$organizers = $this->get_organizer_info(
null, array(
'post_status' => 'publish',
'post__not_in' => $my_organizer_ids,
)
);

If you change that to:

$organizers = null;

You will see that only the “My Organizers” list appears for subscribers. For admins and editors you will still see everyones organizers, but for anyone else with lesser privileges they will see only their subscribers.

Does that sound like what you wanted for now?
