ParticipantMost of the events are there, but there are a few that are no longer showing, yet are published. They are not showing on the map nor in the list of events.
We’ve updated to the latest version of the plugin today to see if it made a difference, but nothing… a couple of us have looked over the event settings and everything looks to be on par with the events that are showing. We also did a manual search for the event and nothing was populated in the search results for the event, either.
We are unable to default to the 2017 theme as we don’t have a staging area to do this, and our community is too large to swap out a theme publicly.

KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for the message and sorry you are experiencing issues. Are the events in your admin area? If so, can you share with me the link of one of the events? Also, try recreating the event and see if it shows up with the same exact details. Can you also send me a screenshot of the settings for that event.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Brendan,
I’m not sure what is meant by “admin” area; it’s located in our WordPress
Dashboard, under the Events plugin section. Here’s the published event:

ParticipantHmm. I responded via email; I didn’t realize you couldn’t include screenshots. Uploading here; if it doesn’t work, I’m happy to email those to you directly.

KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for the response. Admin, meaning when you are logged in can you see the events, and I see that you can. So, can you send me the venue info for that event. Also, can you try recreating that same event?
Does it show if you recreate it? If not, try assigning a different venue to it.
I’m just wondering that it may be the venue location that is getting hung up somewhere.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks,

ParticipantI swapped out the address on the event to one that we knew was working and the event showed on the event list, so it was venue address. However, the event venue was actually correct. The frustrating thing is that it was related the abbreviation vs the spelled-out version of “Road”.
The venue’s website had “190 Park Road” (which is what we had entered)
Google has it listed as “190 Park Rd”It would be helpful (and not that hard to code into the plugin’s functionality) if Events Calendar made an automatic connection for these very common abbreviations. I assume that a lot of places use one version or the other and if it doesn’t match up with Google’s version, it blocks the event from showing entirely. The fact that an abbreviation rather than the spelled out version of “Road” needed to be used is not an intuitive issue to address—at least for seven different people on our team—when to all, including the postal service, this address was correct as we originally entered it.
Thank you for your help here. We’ve got it solved for now, but need to train our team to cross-check every address on Google for abbreviations or non-abbreviated Road, Street, Lane, Court, etc.

KeymasterHi there,
Glad it worked and sorry for the hassle. You are exactly correct that it should work with both the road and abbreviation. This is something we will bring up to devs.
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
