ParticipantHello! Our site was running an older version of Events Calendar Pro (3.0.5 I believe). I upgraded the free Events Calendar plugin to 3.8.1 and at that point things were working. (Although some features were not working, e.g. the weekly calendar view.) We then purchased a new license key and tried to upgrade the Events Calendar Pro plugin to 3.8.1. This broke the admin back end of the site (500 internal server error) – although the public side of the website still worked. I could not load any of the Dashboard pages – I got a 500 error each time. As soon as I manually (via FTP) removed the Pro 3.8.1 plugin, the admin pages were working again.
I switched to the 2013 theme and deactivated all plugins except the free Events Calendar 3.8.1 plugin, cleared the browser cache, and attempted to install the PRO 3.8.1 plugin again. The same thing happened – I got a 500 error on the WP admin pages and had to manually remove the plugin. (Again, the public side of the site loaded as normal.)
For now, I have reverted to the old versions of the free and PRO plugins, and things are working again. But we would like to upgrade to the newest versions. Can you help? I have the server error logs from the time period when I was attempting to install the PRO 3.8.1 plugin.
thanks!

MemberHello,
Sorry for the issues you are having. Not sure what the cause is. The errors in the log were not finding files or functions in Pro.
You mentioned you switched themes, but can you let me know if you have any custom templates in the themes?
Also, are you able to updating to a version such as 3.4?
We do have 3.9 coming out next week(if goes as planned) that may resolve the issue then. If you would like to wait and do a manually install with ftp of both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro.
Let me know and we can go from there to troubleshoot this.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
Thanks for your quick reply. No, there were no custom templates in the 2013 theme that I switched to during testing. I will try updating to version 3.4 and see how it goes. I’ll post a follow up soon. Thanks!December 8, 2014 at 6:30 pm #912515Brian
