ParticipantWhen I click on the link to view more information, the page I get displays a 404 error. I’ve seen some forum posts on updating the slug settings, but I can’t seem to get them right to display the event details.
Please help. Thanks.

MemberHi! I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties – can I ask you to run through the following steps:
- Please ensure The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO are up-to-date
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve
- Visit the Settings → Permalinks admin screen (you need change nothing though – just visiting this is sufficient to make WordPress refresh its rewrite rules table)
With that done, do you still hit the 404 issues?

ParticipantAfter disabling all the plugins and reverting to an unmodified theme, the problem did go away. I started activating the plugins and theme again to zero in on the culprit, and it appears to be the theme and one of the plugins on the site.
What’s the next stop from here? Are there fixes that we can look into, or do we just have to explore a new theme and plugin?

MemberWell, sometimes there is a straightforward path to a fix and sometimes not: can you confirm which theme and plugin (and even provide a URL to the relevant homepages)? Can you also confirm if the situation is that both need to be activated for the conflict to occur, or if it happens when they are activated independently of one another?
Thanks!

ParticipantThe theme used is Grace from Templatic, but it has been discontinued (http://templatic.com/news/deprecating-themes-club-price-changes-the-way-forward/). The plugin that was conflicting with Events Calendar is Email Subscription (http://www.webfish.se/wp/plugins/email-subscription).
The error occurs when either the form or the plugin is activated.

MemberOK – unfortunately then we may have to bow out on this occasion.
Since theme theme is deprecated that may be an indicator of deeper problems and realistically probably isn’t a great investment of our time as any solution would benefit very few users.
With regards to Email Subscription perhaps you could talk to the author about this? I did take a quick peak and the problem boils down to their emailSub_registerUrl() function and how it interacts with WordPress’s rewrite rules table – which it modifies on every single request, therefore it will cause a problem with many plugins besides ours even if that is the only place you are seeing problems right now.
Thanks again – and I’ll go ahead and close this thread.
