ParticipantHi all,
we are running a website for a former NSA listening post in Berlin (berliner-teufelsberg.com) on the newest wordpress version.
Yesterday I installed WooCommerce, Event Calendar and WooTickets to sell tickets for some special events. We already have Permalinks/pretty urls set on “Beitragsname” (“Postname?”) and cannot change that, as we do use the permalinks in eMails.
The event overview does work well:
The event does not work – gets an 404 error: http://berliner-teufelsberg.com/web/event/silvester2014/
If I change the permalink setting to standard it does work but I do loose my pretty URLs which are needed.Wordpress: 4.0.1โen_US
qtranslate 2.5.39 for english translation
Events Calendar 3.9
WooCommerce 2.2.8
Any suggestions?Best regards,
JohannesDecember 12, 2014 at 6:15 pm #916883Josh
ParticipantHello bwcberlin,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the inconvenience this issue is causing. We do have a great tutorial on troubleshooting 404 errors however it sounds like you’ve probably tried a couple of these solutions in passing without success. Here are a couple of ideas that I would suggest to see if the situation changes:
- <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>Since the single events pages work with default permalinks, try changing the slug for single events within the Events Settings at Events -> Settings -> General -> Single event URL slug (https://cloudup.com/cKxRP0am2xc) to something a little more unique.ย </span>
- Try disabling other plugins and switching to a default theme to see if there is some conflict being created by a plugin or the theme.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
– Josh

ParticipantHi Josh,
both did not help! Any further ideas? At the moment the Event does show up when called via the URL http://berliner-teufelsberg.com/web/?tribe_events=silvester2014
However, there are several problems:
1) No valid link from the event overview.
2) Begin/End of the event are broken (see URL above)
3) Checkout does work but brings up an 404 as well.Any ideas?
Best regards,
Johannes

ParticipantHello bwcberlin,
Thanks for following up with us!
This is definitely odd. Would it be possible to get a link to the test site that you’re using where this is occurring with the default theme and plugins deactivated?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
in the end the problem was pretty simple.
The template (Lensa) was the reason – which was pretty old as well. Now everything is up and running ๐Best regards,
