ParticipantHi,
We have a created a recurring event in our site which is now generating 404 not found events..
Google is indexing all those pages and are generating those not found 404 errors.
Can you please let me know what could be the issue on urgent basis as its bit critical?
Please see attached screenshot..Thanks

MemberGood evening Julian and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the 404 not found events. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.First off, I believe you are several versions behind in almost every single one of our plugins.
Unless, you have a compelling reason not to, I would highly recommend upgrading them as a starting point (after a database backup, of course).Secondly, would it be possible to provide me with a bit of a background on http://thelink.space/event/perthcolator-workshop-idea-stage-startups-evening-sessions/ (which I believe is the problematic event).
Indeed, when I do look at http://thelink.space/event/perthcolator-workshop-designed-idea-stage-startups/all/, I am only seeing one event.
Is this because of your recurring events settings in Events -> Settings -> General or because the recurring events were actually removed (manually or otherwise).
Finally, is it possible your caching plugin is keeping these listed when they should not ?
Hang in there!
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Julian,
Thank for these extra details.
I am sorry to hear your efforts were not more fruitful.I believe what might have happened is that something went wrong during the creation of recurring events (which matches a bug we had around the version you are using).
At this point, short of upgrading, the only true other options are:
- Delete all events completely and try to recreate them from scratch (not ideal to say the least), but that might be worth a shot as a last resort.
- Using my previous suggestion of creating things from scratch in a fully upgraded environment
- Run searches on all the tables of your Database using only the id (i.e.: 1443 – to be repeated for all 404 pages “id”).
I did just that and somehow bumped into what appears to be traces of a multilingual plugin (perhaps this is related)
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Hang in there and let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi,
I have upgraded the plugin and now “The Events Calendar PRO: Cleanup Recurring Events” is displaying 11 recurring events. Their is no extra recurring event displaying in Tools->Available Tools .
Can you please suggest the next step how to delete extra 404 events ?

MemberGood evening Julian,
Since you did upgrade the plugin, the next step would be to re-save your different recurring events one-by-one.
This will force their rebuild and hopefully clear ghost entries.
If that still does not cut it for you, please let me know and I will attempt to bring this to some of our code wizards to see if they do not spot anything we might have missed.
Have a good weekend,
Geoff B.

ParticipantJust to confirm from re-save you mean to update all events by following these steps.
1- Open each recurring event individually.
2- Click Update button. That event will be re-saved and will force their rebuild and will clear ghost entries..??
