ParticipantI am using serpstat to crawl for seo errors and my “Organiser pages” are giving me 404 erorrs to links to the organiser page.
However when I check the link they are all working correctly.Organiser Links giving 404 errors
http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/chantal/https:/www.facebook.com/ChantalsHouseofShame/
http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/connection/http:/www.connectionclub.de/
It links to:
Any ideas what might be causing this 404 error when I cant seem to find the error in the URL entry.

MemberHi Keith,
Thanks for reaching out.
I’m struggling to figure out the source of those links myself.
If the SEO tool you are using makes this information available, can you give me a specific example of a page that contains one of those broken links?
I reviewed your “Connection” organizer page for example and can’t find any obviously broken links.
Are you additionally able to check things out using Google’s SEO/webmaster tools and see if they uncover similar findings (just in case serpstat is returning false positives)?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
Yes, I cant seem to find it either. As per one example, it tells me:
2 http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/chantal/https:/www.facebook.com/ChantalsHouseofShame/ 404 1
http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/chantal/but I can’t seem to find any http:/ missing an extra “/”
I have reached out to the Serpstat, but maybe the above info might give you some idea?

MemberI wish I could help further, but without knowing where that URL is coming from it’s very hard to do so.
Hopefully the Serpstat team can provide additional insights; beyond that it may be worth trying to use a different SEO tool and see if it gives the same errors or not.
http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/chantal/https:/www.facebook.com/ChantalsHouseofShame/ ↑ missing forward slashI do also find the above a little odd and I can’t think of anything on our side that would trigger this pattern of URL being generated. Let’s wait out and see if the other vendor can share additional ideas.

ParticipantSerpstat looked at the page and told me to view the source
If you go to any of the organiser pages,
eg http://www.gayberlin4u.com/organizer/chantal/
And view the source code, you will see the broken links being generated, but I am not sure how this is happening?

ParticipantSorry, for some reason it is stripping out the error causing code in the forum, I have attached a screen shot of what is being shown in the meta description.

MemberAh-hah, I see it now! Can you confirm which versions of our plugins you are using and update if they are behind? Unfortunately I’m unable to access your system information so can’t check this directly.

ParticipantI updated both plugins and the latest version of WordPress and the issue has been resolved.
