ParticipantHi – i just purchased, installed, and activated the plugin after testing the free version
the calendar and widget display events perfectly, and link perfectly to a single event, but both produce 404 errors on recurring event links…
please advise
thank you ‘o’

MemberHi: I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
Though I note you said you are using the latest versions, please do double check you have 3.5.1 for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO (as we pushed out two further builds in the last couple of days, both containing important fixes).
Is that all in place/are you still having issues with those builds?

Participanthey Barry –
thanks for getting back to me so quickly ‘o’
i actually solved the issue by changing my Permalinks settings to “Post Name” instead of “Default”…hopefully that’s going to be a permanent fixother than that, great work with the plug in!
one small question – is there a way to customize the image that pops up in the calendar and calendar widget links?
the theme i’m using automatically includes the featured image in posts in addition to any images that i’ve inserted – so i experience double imagesi’ve been able to fix this on regular posts with some included meta options, but not so for events
the reason i’d like to set a featured image is that it appears to be what ECP references for it’s popup images and i’d like to have the popup image working
i can work around it by creating a small generic pop up image that i like, but i’d prefer to use the featured image created from the post as a popup but not have it automatically inserted into (on top of) the event
i realize that that part is probably in the realm of the way my theme uses featured images, but any thoughts?
thanks again

Fantastic 🙂

Hmm, well I’m not quite sure I’ve heard of a theme that does this before, but I guess there are two approaches here. One is to figure out what hook your theme is using to inject these images (my guess is it uses a content or excerpt filter to accomplish this) – you could therefore remove it … but please seek the advice of the theme author there.
Alternatively, it’s possible to stop our plugin from pulling in featured images and you could do that by setting up one or more template overrides (please see the Themer’s Guide for details).
I’m not too clear as to which of those would be the best path for you, certainly if it’s the latter we could give you a few more pointers to help you on the way here 🙂

ParticipantI ran into this same issue. All recurring events produce 404 error pages. I’ve updated both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO to 3.5.1. I also changed the permalinks settings to “Post Name.” I’ve noticed not only does it produce a 404 error page, but it resets the changes I’ve made for the recurring event.
Any help would be appreciated!

MemberHi kylemorin,
We’d be happy to help you out, but would you mind starting your own thread? That way we can focus on your specific situation.
Thanks,

ParticipantThis is the same problem I am having, kylemorin, did you manage to get this sorted? I am updated to both current versions, and permalinks set to post name too, still getting 404 error page, so frustrating!!!

ParticipantYes, holmfirthevents. The client I was working with had an older version of WordPress, but once I updated WordPress to the latest version, it worked. Hopefully that works for you!
