3.0 + – Template code not working for custom category page

    I have a custom page template , and need to show a grid view calendar from a single events category in that template. Before upgrading to 3.0, it was working.

    Now, I’m getting an error : Fatal error: Cannot redeclare display_day_title() (previously declared etc…..

    Where is the documentation for 3.0 ? Template tags etc ? All of the documentation pages say
    “Please note that all documentation below is for The Events Calendar 2.0.1 through 2.0.11. Documentation for version 3.0 and beyond is available on our main documentation page.”

    Where is this documentation?

    Hi Brian,

    All the new documentation lives at http://docs.tri.be/ – in order to know what’s going on with your code, I’d need to take a look at it so I can test it out locally. Can you please post it to http://snippi.com/?

    Thanks. Here’s the code in my custom template that was working before upgrading to 3.0+ – http://snippi.com/s/2i7p2x9

    It’s basically showing the grid view calendar of events from one category. In 3.0+ I get the error “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare display_day_title() (previously declared etc…..”

    Hi Brian,

    Unfortunately that code will no longer work. It was more of a solution we were patching together rather than something that was officially supported, so that’s why it no longer works now. You’ll need to patch something together more along the lines of what’s been posted here to get this working again: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/lost-display-of-calendar-on-home-page-after-update-to-3-0-1/ – and even then it might not be a perfect solution or exactly how it was working before.

    Sorry I don’t have more to offer here.
