    Hi,
    I’ve been happily running your plugin with a customised templates on a clients site for several years.

    I was recently contacted by said client after they upgraded the plugin to 3.x and in their own words “the events page is a total mess”.
    I assumed I’d just need to make some quick fixes to the template files to get it looking like it should again but unforutnately this has proven very difficult.

    I notice that not only has the custom template directory name changed but so have the names of most of the individual template files. But I can’t find any documentation detailing how to convert a custom theme from 2.x to 3.x. Please tell me that this exists somewhere and I’m just missing it?
    I have folloewd your ‘Downgrade’ instructions using the plugin and have it restored to how it looked previously but really don’t like the idea of running an old version.

    So I really need to know if there is any plugin or at least documentation to help make an upgrade from 2.09 to 3.x whilst maintaining the previous custom template. I appreciate there will be work involved and am happy to do so but it’s very difficult without knowing exactly what has changed!

    Hi Shaun,

    We don’t have a step-by-step guide to this I’m afraid – the changes were significant enough that it isn’t going to be a case of replace x with y in all cases – but we have updated our themer’s guide and other resources.

    It’s probably easiest to start with a “blank canvas” using the default templates then start adding back your customizations. If you get stuck on any specific issues definitely feel free to create threads about them: depending on the nature of what you’re doing there may be limits to how far we can help – but even if we can just prod you in the right direction we will be happy to do so 🙂

    Sorry for any inconvenience this caused you – overall though I think the new structure will add a lot of flexibility and perhaps even make it easier to efficiently customize many areas.
