GuestDoes the app support 2 way syncing with iCal? If so, how many iCal feeds can we have?

GuestOur customers book appointments on our website. We need an app that supports two way iCal syncing. Do you support 2 way syncing with iCal? If so, how many iCal feeds can we have?
Thanks,

ParticipantHey @PK,
Can you clarify exactly what you mean by “2 way syncing”? Currently, the iCal importer itself only allows the importing of events.
The Events Calendar itself, however, whether you have the iCal importer installed or not, does generate iCal-compatible .ics files – you can see this in action here on our demo site by scrolling to the bottom of the page and using the “Export month’s events” link → http://wpshindig.com/events/
Other than these two basic paradigms, there is not any additional iCal-exporting functionality or such.
I hope this helps!

GuestI’d like more clarification on this, if possible. I’m trying to make a decision between your product and another, the key difference being that the other product allows site visitors to subscribe to the iCal feed and sync it fairly easily with their Google Calendar. When I look at examples in your showcase, I can see that there is an “Export this month’s events” option on many of them, but this seems like a tedious and repetitive task. When I click those links I just get a .ics file to save to my computer, which none of our users will know what to do with.
This is what I’m looking for: http://docs.wp-event-organiser.com/shortcodes/subscribe-link/
Thanks for your help, I would really prefer to use your product but the function is a requirement for my client.

ParticipantHey Anji,
There is unfortunately no other exporting feature at this time than those “Export this month’s event” links that generated the static .ics file. RSS Feeds of your events are generated at [your-site.com]/events/feed, but this is an RSS feed and not technically an iCal feed.
You can see a real, working demo of this on our demo site here → http://wpshindig.com/events/feed/
Try using that “Feed” in any context you need to – if it works for your needs, then The Events Calendar might be the right plugin for you 🙂

Guesthello – this is basically asking about the ical feed (vs. downloading an ics file) feature request listed in your forums here:
do you have an update on when this feature will be out? it appears it’s been in progress for about a year. i need this functionality for a website redesign we’re going through right now.

ParticipantHey Peter,
This feature is not going to be released in the immediate future; it is possible that this will come out before it’s 2016, but I cannot promise that and would say that it is unlikely.
I’m sorry to disappoint!
Sincerely,
