ParticipantHello and thank you for your reply. Yes, the code mentioned does help but it does not remove the separator after for example “Upcoming Events”. How will I remove that?
I want to use this empty and get rid of the separator
$title_upcoming = ”; // List View: Upcoming events

ParticipantBarry, ignore the last comment, I had not seen your reply and test the code, I just added the comment to let you know the first code was not working in the front as well.
However, the new code you sent me seems to work! Thanks a lot! (http://pastebin.com/0RawgErv)webotools
ParticipantIt seems the code is wrong, not only the admin area but the whole site goes blank…

ParticipantBarry hi,
Thanks for your help and sorry for the delay in replying, it has been too busy lately! We tried the snippet but it results in giving us blank page in the admin area. We shall look into it again (check if it conflicts with something in our functions.php) and let you know.webotools
ParticipantBarry hi,
I believe that it would make sense to a lot of people as WordPress users are used to having the posts displayed in that order. Our client complaints that there is no way to let her view the events she has recently published and indeed it is messy when you have hundreds of recurring events.
Let me know how we could achieve this kind of sorting.
Thanks in advance.webotools
ParticipantBarry hi,
Yes, I did experience this without checking the “Hide from Upcoming Events List feature”. I created a recurring event and saved it. Then I edited the second recurring event in line and simply changed its title and selected to apply the change to all upcoming events. Then I went to edit the first recurring event in line and change its title and the bug appeared with the loader spinning infinitely. I don’t think it matters if the Hide from Upcoming Events List is used. I think it all comes down to the fact that the first event is broken from the recurring group if you make any kind of change to the second in line event. Thus, if you then try to edit and save it, the popup (asking if you want to apply change to all events or just that one) doesn’t appear and the loader spins forever…webotools
Participanthi guys, any progress on the matter?

ParticipantBarry, thanks, our developer figured it out and it was like the link you sent us!

ParticipantBarry hi,
In fact, I would like to have something very simple. I want to get the last submitted post (the default wordpress loop gets you that one but with the events this does not happen).e.g. if I publish an event right now (no matter when its start date is) I want to display it on my home page. Is that possible in an easy way or I need to make a complicated query?
Thanks.

ParticipantDavid hi, I don’t know if you have seen the problem again, I just want to let you know how we got the bug to appear. What we noticed is the following (you can try it in order to reproduce the bug and see what I mean):
I create a new recurring event and publish it. Then I go to the events and select to edit the second event of the recurring duplicates created. I click the checkbox in order to select not to have it appear on the upcoming events list (as I normally don’t want to have the same event displaying 10-20 times in line) and on the popup that appears I select to apply it to all events (which applies this change to future events only). This action solves the problem of the event appearing multiple times in the upcoming list but creates another problem. The first event in line is cut off from the recurring and when you see it on the events list (in the administration area) it appears as “Recurring – >No”. The problem is, when you go afterwards to edit the first event in line, clicking on the update button doesn’t work and the loader keeps spinning infinitely…

ParticipantHi, the update 2.0.9 in wordpress 3.4.2 still does not solve the problem…

ParticipantI tried all that, still there is a problem.
What we noticed is the following (you can try it in order to reproduce the bug and see what I mean – it happens on our local and live server, thus it has nothing to do with server settings and php versions) and I am afraid it has to do with the way you handle the recurring events.

I guess you need to patch your plugin in order to fix this which I believe is quite a serious problem.

ParticipantPHP Version : 5.2.17 / 64Bit OS
Memory limit : 128 MByte
… if it helpswebotools
ParticipantYes, I tried both (I tried 64MB limit). I guess the problem arises by the fact that the pop up asking you if you want to change all events or just the one you edit, does not appear. Do you have any idea what else might be wrong?
