This is a very strange problem as we’ve done exactly what you described. We’ve also manually changed the permalink. We’ve also gone to the permalink settings and changed and resaved. Same problem each time.

Another recurring event problem I am running into is this: if you have an event running for several days, you need to make the ending day the day after it actually ends. i.e. An event runs 10/15, 16 & 17. You need to make the final day the 18th or it will only show the 15th and 16th. Not sure if this makes sense the way I am writing it, but it’s hard to explain!
