ParticipantHi Øyvind
Ok thank you! Will try to just copy the .po .mo files locally and tweak them as necessary with the translation – like you mention it is good to be able to customize according to own need.
And yes hopefully the issue with the English words can be fixed asap. It does look odd…

PS the old 1972 NRK show you link to is 🙂

ParticipantHi Øyvind,
Do your translations work locally when you copy the .mo and .po files you edited with Poedit to your server?
I can see you have the same problem as us (Danish), where it mixes in English so it is ‘Upcoming Arrangementer’ & “Past Arrangementer”
Anybody know a solution to this?
Thanks, Louise

ParticipantStill need answer to my original question (also asked by Mia)
Can I copy these files directly to my local server to get the translation in my calendar?
Basically a method to get my translations to our local calender would be appreciated.
thanks

ParticipantSo I had a look at present translations:
– and the main thing – the central word used for ‘event’ / ‘begivenhed’ is still used…this is was I spent a lot of time changing in the above translation.‘begivenhed’ in Danish is a major/important event – like a wedding, funeral, 50 year birthday, opening of a new museum…
http://ordnet.dk/ddo/ordbog?query=begivenhed
The only place in translation that I left this term is ‘heldagsbegivenhed’ – a whole day event, which is ok
For everything else ‘aktiviteter’ is a much better word.
Calling something like a tour of an exhibition, or guided tour of a town and other small type stuff a ‘begivenhed’ sounds silly and ‘google translatey’
Have not checked out other stuff – I made quite a few translations/corrections…but the other major glaring thing was the ‘read more’ featuring prominently in the calender front page being translated to ‘lean more’ ‘Lær mere’.. sounded equally silly in Danish…
So right now we have badly translated Danish & English mix on our calender (re the above issue from the latest update)…sigh looks unprofessional…

Participant12 June I had a thread asking about translations – the 18 you change procedure (I made the translations 19, I did not check forums for any updates on how you want this done) – that is not a way to roll out changes in procedure…this is a hassle to get a proper Danish translation

ParticipantHi George,
Spent almost 2 hours on this + the initial downloading etc on doing it the ‘old way’ – so honestly feel that I have been wasting time – I posted a thread not that long ago when I had problems with opening one of the files – do not understand why nobody gave me a heads up that method was changing….

Participantcan see you changed translation procedure yesterday – I did not see this. So hope this can still be used according to your previous instructions (made with poedit)

Participantre the mixing of language – seems to be this causing the problem
