    Thanks AndrĂ¡s,

    I conducted all the conflict testing with an exact duplicate of the site that’s displaying the issue.

    I came to the conclusion that it was a theme conflict because I already tested the theme by switching to both Twenty Sixteen and Twenty Seventeen with only the Events Calendar plugins active. On those themes, the plugin was OK but, when I switched back to the most current version of my theme, the plugin did not function – with or without the other plugins activated.

    My concern was that there have been a few WordPress updates since the theme I’m using (which I cannot change at this point) was last updated in late January. Your plugins updated a couple times too to ensure compatibility. I’m wondering if the fix I momentarily had a month or so ago was only working until I updated your plugins.

    I’m going to see if it works with a version of the Pro Calendar that’s backdated. I’ll let you know if that solves it.

    It seems to be the theme. It is completely up-to-date and still the widget doesn’t function. I remember that updating to the new version of the theme did seem to correct the problem last time, but only for a week or so (thus why I happily closed the thread, thinking the issue was resolved). I wonder since your stuff has been updated a few times since then if their theme now has to catch up.

    Is there any general advice you can offer in regards to what commonly leads to theme conflicts or is it now theme developer’s problem?

    I hit the “correct answer” button by mistake. Issue persists. I already went through the conflict test steps in my original thread & it didn’t resolve the issue, but I’m in the process of re-testing.

    Hi Hunter,

    Thanks for the quick reply. It was a theme conflict. I was under the impression that the theme was up-to-date, but it was not. New theme version = widget working perfectly. Thanks!

    I got the extra categories commented out. There’s 1 parent category & 5 child ones related to it that I want to be shown. When I go to the form now, the only item that shows up in the categories box is the prompt to click to see all categories. Then I have to click on the parent category to show the children. How can I get rid of the “see all” prompt & just show at least the parent category?

    See screenshots for reference. Thanks!

    Hey Nico,

    Thanks! I just wanted to be sure there wasn’t an easier way to do it. My next option was to edit the css to get rid of the extras, so I’m glad that lines up with your recommendations. I should be okay to do this myself. I’ll let you know if I run into any issues. Thanks for the help.

    I figured out the plugin conflict culprit. I thought I had tested with all the plugins individually – must’ve missed this guy. Sorry to bother!

    That got it working! Thanks for the help! I found that when I just changed the file and uploaded, I had the same freezing problem when I tried to activate it, but when I disabled the free version, then uploaded pro I was able to activate it with no delay and reactivate the free version with no problems/errors/warnings.

    One thing I did notice is that it’s giving every reoccurrence of the classes it’s own event in the admin panel. Is this supposed to happen?

    Disabling all the plugins proved helpful in being able to move from the activation screen, but after, when I tried to reactive the free version (which they say you need activated for the add-on to function) it freezes again.

    I found with 3.4 that 2 warnings I was getting at the bottom of the events admin screen related to line 799 of events-calendar-pro.php which reads:

    // load the dialog
    require_once( TribeEvents::instance()->pluginPath.’admin-views/recurrence-dialog.php’ );
    }

    I looked in the downloaded folders for both 3.4 & 3.5 and neither have this php file in them. I’m running out of options and really need this to work. Any other suggestions?

    I also came to the forum with this issue. I had the free version installed, but wanted the recurring events ability. I bought the PRO – personal version today & when I installed it (version 3.5) it froze everything in my admin area. The site was still up & viewable, but any attempt at movement in the admin area was dead. I had to delete the plugin folder completely from my ftp. I installed 3.4 and it seemed to work, but gives a warning across the bottom of the admin screen about line 779 relating to recurring events. Attempts to upgrade from 3.4 to 3.5 appear to work, but when you try to move from the confirmation screen to do anything else in the admin panel after, it freezes up again.

    I’m on the newest version of wordpress and don’t know what to do! Is there a plugin that this commonly conflicts with?
