Hi Charrame,
my temporary fix was to change my single event slug to one without the –
So I had ‘eft-courses’ and I changed it to just ‘event’
It works for me taking out the – but external links will then be 404
Christmas Eve was not a good time to have to sort this!
Tribe have recognised it as a bug now and will be on the case

Yes my intuition said it was a bug and nothing to do with my theme or plugins.
I changed my single event slug to – event – with no – and have internal consistency
There will still be some external 404s but new events will work
Yes this is a serious problem that some users will not have spotted it
I only realised because I check Wordfence pages not found in live traffic

Hello Martin
If you take the – out of the single event ulr slug then the problem goes away and there is no extra slash in the permalink. Or at least that has worked for me.
I took the – out over Christmas so that the site didnt have internal 404s.
Yesterday I tried putting the – back, flushing the permalinks and waiting, hey presto no problem, but later in the evening the problem came back! So took – out again.
Not had time to read Hunters articles yet or really work through it.
Maybe I’ll just live without the – in the slug. Its better SEO to have it but not crucial.
Like you I am not going to take my site to bits.
The events calendar worked before with my Total theme and cohabited happily with my plugins.
Like you this problem only appeared after the last update on Christmas Eve.

There was no problem until Events Pro upgrade
I have been using Events Pro with Total theme and several plugins for 6 months no problem
No other plugins have been added, they were all happy together
Your plugin was working fine until last update
I am NOT going to do as you suggest
This is a problem with your software so do not ask me to take my site to pieces

The old settings were
Events url slug = eft-training
Single event url slug = eft-courses

Since update of Events calendar I have had to use the following settings
Events url slug = eft-training (that still works)
Single event url slug = courses

because if I put eft-courses then somehow an extra forward slash gets added in, see the links in my previous messages. Its something to do with having a dash (-) in the single events url slug. It doesnt like that anymore. it used to be fine.

PLEASE sort this out.

The events url slug is fine with a hyphen, I use eft-training and that works
Its the single event url slug that is causing the problem

I flushed the permalinks when first found problem

Just done this:
changed single event slug to eft-courses
flushed permalinks
single event url still 404 http://www.efthelps.com/eft/-courses/eft-part-one-january/
changed slug back to courses

I did that too. Just tried again to change the slug from ‘courses’ to ‘eft-courses’ and still get the same problem

I have the same problem. Our single event url slug is ‘eft-courses’ but I was getting the extra slash like yours. I have done a temporary fix changing the slug to just ‘courses’ and the internal links work on our site. Unfortunately external links will now get a 404

Ok, it works if I change the single event url slug to ‘courses’ not ‘eft-courses’ so that there are no 404s on the site itself. But now people will get 404s from external links. So I really need it changed back to ‘eft-courses’

when you folks are back at work please help me to sort this out

Before I ask my Dev to do any more (because I have to pay him) lets see if I can give you more info and you can replicate the problem or advise me how else I can get a link with link text into the event details.

Before your recent update the html in the Registration additional field displayed as a link ‘Book Your Place’

I used a text field in the additional fields because I want to have the link text, if I use URL then the whole link is rather long and it runs over the edge of the box which looks messy

My registration system is Regonline and though I have put registration buttons in the body text I would like there to be a registration link in the event details. This did work before your update.

The html is still showing as text

“Ok
I have triple checked the server path, the file structure, re copied and pasted the replacement code and have tried adding the template override both in the main themes folder and in the child folder (it’s a child theme) and the link is still showing as html. The only caching that is taking place is from WordFence, I have disabled this and cleared the cache”
