ParticipantUpdate – As we needed a resolution fairly quickly, we ended up having to manually delete 800 events (there should have been 50) and re-import all events from a backup site. Seems ok for the moment.
So far we have seen a number of issues which is a shame, the plugin used to be fairly solid but seeing more and more problems these days. Another issue we have just spotted is that Ajax loading doesn’t work when moving to the next page of events, it simply reloads the same page over and over. (does this with the default theme also).
I’ll close this thread and start a new one if we can’t resolve it ourselves.

ParticipantApologies, yes, this is sorted. Many thanks for your help on this!

ParticipantThanks Barry, I’ll have a look at this & report back! 🙂

ParticipantHi Jonah & thanks! Will have a look at those.

ParticipantHi Barry, I personally have only had the issue when using the ‘Hide from upcoming Events’, that does seem to be the main problematic feature.
Thanks.

ParticipantHi Leah / Jonah,
As per webotools comment above, is there any news on this? This morning I am unable to save a recurring event on a site due to go live very soon. The only way I can save it is to turn off the ‘recurring’ settings for each event and then save. I’m due to pass this site on to a client in a few days so its a bit worrying as no doubt they will come across this issue.
I’m guessing this is not a straight forward fix as its been ongoing for a while now. If you could give us an update on progress that would be great, thanks.

ParticipantJust had this issue again on an event with 2 dates, just tried to make a small change and it wouldn’t save for me. Hope this can be resolved soon. thanks.
David
ParticipantYou are ABSOLUTELY spot on!
This is exactly the process my client had been following, hiding all events apart from the first & then trying to edit the first event. I’ve just tested using this process and it did indeed fail to save. As you point out, it may be down to the first event no longer being treated as a recurring event.
I can’t believe I forgot to test using these steps and very grateful you took the time to post.
Jonah, could you do some testing using the above method and see what results you get? Many thanks.
David
ParticipantI haven’t had an instances where it failed so far, but my client has been away so my fingers are crossed that it works for her when she is back next week. The tests I completed seems to work ok.
David
ParticipantJust to report back, I’ve since removed and re-created all the events on one site with no problems. On the other site I’ve created 5 recurring events and they all seem fine, so fingers are well and truly crossed!
Many thanks for your help on this!

ParticipantUpdate… I’ve been trying to replicate the issue this morning but it’s been working well so far whilst screen recording! I’ll try again later and report back.
David
ParticipantHi Jonah, I’ve sent access details so you can see the issue first hand but I’m happy to do a screencast if it helps.
The events I created were created after I updated to the latest version.

ParticipantUpdate, the second attempt saved ok. It’s a strange scenario – quite often the problem occurs only when the initial recurring event has been saved, then when u try to make a change it will refuse to save.
My first attempt (as per above post) I had gotten the end date wrong so had to change it and it wouldn’t save so I deleted it and started again. Worked ok the second time.
David
ParticipantUnfortunately the first recurring event I added following the update to 2.0.9 failed to save. I’d appreciated if this could be looked at as a matter of urgency – it looks as though quite a few people are having problems with this.
It also doesn’t appear to be theme related as we are all using different themes.
Thanks. -
